Diamond photos are taken using a Nikon D40x digital SLR, 10MPix
Diamonds and rings are placed inside a single source diffuse pyramid lightbox
Where possible the diamonds are removed from the plastic display case however for the sets of small stones, sizes typically under 0.10ct the plastic lid is left in place to keep the diamonds aligned and straight.
The lense is a Nikon AF-S DX VR Zoom-Nikkor, 55-200mm f/4-5.6G IF-ED with a local length adjustment fitting.
The distance from the lense face to the diamond is typically 20-30cm.
The images are stored on the camera as high resolution .jpg files
Once opened in photoshop we crop the photo and adjust the brightness by +50 and contrast by +50.
